Hale Akaʻula is a monthly rental. Under Hawaiʻi County law, every reservation is a minimum of 30 days, and we host only a limited number of stays each year. If you're hoping for a slightly shorter visit, just ask — the rental agreement is still written for a 30-day minimum.
Check your dates on our Reservations page and submit a request. We'll confirm availability, send you a rental agreement to sign, and once it's signed you'll pay securely through Stripe to lock in your dates. Dates shown online aren't guaranteed until an agreement is signed and confirmed.
Rates run from $7,500/month in the shoulder seasons to $9,000 in summer (June–August) and $15,000 in December–January, plus tax — and that's for the entire home, not a single room or unit. See our Pricing page for the current rate by season.
The home comes fully furnished with a chef's kitchen, linens, and everything you need to settle in and feel at home. On request, our on-site caretaker can provide weekly cleaning — washing and changing bed linens, sweeping, and general tidying.
Yes, we recommend renting a car. Hale Akaʻula sits peacefully in Waikoloa Village, about a 6-mile drive from the Kohala Coast's resorts, beaches, restaurants, and shopping.
Hale Akaʻula is a 2,236 sq ft home with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths — ideal for families, couples, and groups who want room to spread out. Additional guests are approved and itemized in your rental agreement.

Absolutely. With three bedrooms and plenty of space indoors and on the lanai, Hale Akaʻula gives families and multi-generational groups room for everyone to be comfortable. Children are welcome.
