This policy explains what information haleakaula.net collects, why, and what we do with it. Hale Akaʻula is a privately owned home in Waikoloa Village, Hawaiʻi, rented by its owners. We are not a large company and we do not sell anyone's data.
When you send a reservation request or a message through this site, we collect the details you enter: your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give one, the dates you are interested in, the number of guests, and anything you write in the message field. Your name and email are required so that we can reply; everything else is optional or specific to your request.
If you go on to book, we will also collect the information needed to prepare a rental agreement and take payment. Payments are processed by Stripe, and card details are handled by Stripe rather than by us.
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and move through the site — pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type, and referring links. This is used in aggregate to improve the site.
Our reservation form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, which collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google to distinguish real visitors from automated abuse. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
The site is hosted by Webflow, which records standard server logs including IP addresses.
We use what you send us to answer your enquiry, confirm availability, prepare and send a rental agreement, arrange payment, and look after you during your stay. We may keep a record of past correspondence and stays. We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we do not sell or rent them to anyone.
Your information is shared only with the services needed to run the rental: Webflow (website hosting), Google (analytics, reCAPTCHA, and the cloud service that delivers your request to us), Stripe (payments), and the software we use to prepare and sign rental agreements. If you reach us through Vrbo, Airbnb, or Furnished Finder, that platform's own privacy policy also applies to what you do there. We will disclose information if the law requires it.
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept while they may still be useful and then deleted. Records connected to an actual stay — agreements, payments, correspondence — are kept as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
This site uses cookies for basic functionality and for Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some things may behave differently.
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@haleakaula.net and we will respond. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, and we will honour those requests.
This site is intended for adults arranging a rental. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
